Trail report for February NUMB THUMB,

Grooming is in full swing, small mishap with plow/sander truck last week interrupted grooming for the

day, all is well as the damage was minimal and is back at task. Was out for ride out Bunco yesterday

(Saturday) trails that we rode were in excellent condition, has had time to set, and will be good

grooming for rest of season. Groomer is back at Bunco because of new snow so that will be great

for the trails on the north end. I hope to groom out to Johnson Saddle sometime in the near future,

(some group of riders tore it up pretty good on Saturday, darn snowmobilers !!!!) that means the

independence loop will be groomed also to Magee. Generally the groomers leave from the Fourth of

July lot , Fernan and Bunco about every other day and trails are groomed up for the week-end. If you

encounter a little chop in the trail on Sunday, that means Saturday was the best day to ride. Hope you

all visit the three warming huts when you can, please watch for any vandalism, if you see anybody doing

something they shouldn’t , take registration # or find out name of person and call officer Burns with

the Sherriffs Dept. or call me. GO SNOWMOBILING trails are great and this may be the best gets this

Thanks DALE A. Board member/trails, Chairman of the Kootenai County Groomer Advisory Board

p.s. When approaching a groomer on the trail, please don’t try to pass in any direction, operator will see

you soon and stop and let you by in a safe place. Dale, 661-4718
